“What is a referral?”
In the real estate business, a referral means recommending a potential client to another real estate agent, usually in another city or country. For example, if a client tells their real estate agent in Puerto Rico that they want to buy a property in the Dominican Republic, the agent will contact a trusted colleague in that country and provide them with the client’s information to assist them.
It is a common practice among real estate agents to refer clients to each other when they are looking for properties outside of their geographical areas of expertise and licensing. This allows them to provide better service to clients by connecting them with a trusted local professional.
At Wolmeda, our policy is not to directly sell properties outside of Puerto Rico. Our agents are licensed to operate in this territory. If a client is looking to invest in another country, we refer them to colleagues in our international network of contacts. They will guide the client through the purchasing process in their jurisdiction. Wolmeda does not participate directly in those international transactions, only providing the initial contact and follow-up to the client as a courtesy.
